Gorey Community booked their place in the semi final following their deserved win in this Leinster Schools Quarter final. Gorey opened the scoring after 15 mins with a well taken goal by Fionn Doyle and within 2 mins stretched their lead to 2-0 when awarded a penalty that was dispatched by Cian McDonagh to the bottom right hand corner. Wexford CBS were handed a life line when they pulled a goal back in the 25th minute. Gorey managed to control the midfield up until half time. After the break both teams found it difficult to get a hold on the game but it was no surprise that Gorey would eventually come up with the goods. With Conor Casserly pulling the strings, Gorey created a host of chances but it wasn't until 60th minute that the pressure paid off when another good delivery from Dylan Moore was eventually put over the line by Darren Brennan. Like the first half, another penalty was awarded to Gorey within mins. Jamie Heffernan stepped up only to have his shot saved well. The draw for the semi's will be made next week. Watch this space.
